CASE STUDY

Client:  Surviving husband of female, 62 years old
Location:  Savannah, GA
Injury:  Wrongful death, medical malpractice 

Facts: A woman developed Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) after taking a drug for weight reduction approximately ten years before her diagnosis. PPH is a fatal disease involving the lungs and heart that is unique because that it has been strongly associated with diet drugs.

Her treating doctors confirmed her diagnosis and the cause of the PPH as the result of her diet drug exposure. She died within a matter of months, leaving her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Result: Our legal team filed an action on behalf of the surviving husband for his wife’s wrongful death. The case was filed outside of Georgia because of jurisdictional issues and settled after the depositions of all experts. The doctors settled for a confidential amount.
